వసంత పంచమి శ్రీ సరస్వతి పూజ.

శ్రీ సరస్వతి పూజ observed in మాఘ మాసము is of great significance in ఉత్తర మరియు తూర్పు భారత దేశములో ప్రసిద్ది . Saraswati Puja in Magh Month is January 20. The day is also observed as వసంత పంచమి and Sri Panchami. It is believed by some Hindu community that సరస్వతి దేవి on this day. The day is also known as పుస్తకముల పూజ (book worship).

Elaborate Saraswati puja is held on this day in houses, temples and in educational institutions. Yellow color dress is preferred on this day as it stands for prosperity and knowledge.

Children are introduced to the world of letters on this day. Elders or pundits make youngsters write ‘Om.’ Educational institutions conduct special poojas and students in large numbers participate in these poojas.
