యువతీ యువకుల వివాహం వారణ మాయురం మహిమ గోదా దేవి తన ‘ వారణ మాయిరం ’(9.6) లో భగవంతున్ని వివాహమాడినటుల కల కన్నది. పెరియాళ్వార్ , ఆండాళ్ కు అర్చావతార వైభవమును తెలుపగా ఆండాళ్ ‘ తిరువరంగత్తాన్ ’ ( శ్రీరంగనాథున్ని) ఇష్ఠపడినది.ఆండాళ్ కోరికను ఎలా తీర్చాలి అని పెరియాళ్వార్ ఆందోలనతో చింతించసాగిరి. ఒకనాడు కలలో శ్రీరంగనాథుడు కనిపించి ఆండాళ్ ను శ్రీరంగమునకు తీసుకరావల్సినది అక్కడ కలుద్దామన్నాడు. ఆ మర్నాడు   శ్రీరంగనాథుడు తన పరిచారకులను , అర్చకులను , ఛత్రములను , చామరములను , అందమయిన పల్లకిని , ఆండాళ్ ను కొనిపోవుటకు శ్రీవిల్లిపుత్తూరునకు పంపగా పెరియాళ్వార్ చాలా ఆనందపడెను. పెరియాళ్వార్ శ్రీవిల్లిపుత్తూరు వటపత్రశాయి దగ్గర ఆనతి తీసుకొని పల్లకిలో ఆండాళ్ ను కూర్చుండపెట్టి మేళతాళములతో పెద్ద ఊరేగింపుగా శ్రీరంగమునకు బయలుదేరెను. గోదా దేవి కల్యాణం రోజున ఇప్పటికి కూడా  దేవాలయములో అర్చకులు పసుపులో ముంచిన కొబ్బారికాయలతో ఆడుతూ  ఈ వారణ మాయిరం చదువుతారు. ఈ కొబ్బరికాయలు  పెండ్లి కావలసిన యువతీ యువకులు ప్రసాదముగా స్వీకరించినట్లయితే వారికి తప్పకుండ వివాహము జరుగును . 

చంద్రుడు పుష్యమి నక్షత్రం లో ఉండగా వచ్చే మాసం పుష్య మాసం తేది 30-12-2016 నుండి . “ పుష్య ” అనే మాటకు పోషణ శక్తి కలిగినది అని అర్ధం. పుష్య మాసం శీతాకాలం. ఆధ్యాత్మికంగా జపతపాదులు , ధ్యానపారాయణలకు శ్రేష్ఠమైన మాసమిది.వైకుంట ఏకాదశి ఈ నెలలోనే వచ్చింది.  పితృదేవతలను పూజించి అందరు దోషరహితులయ్యే పుణ్య మాసం పుష్యం. పుష్యపౌర్ణమి వేదాధ్యయానికి చాలా విశిష్టమైనది గా చెప్పబడింది. శ్రావణ పౌర్ణమి మొదలు పుష్య పౌర్ణమి వరకు వేదాలు , మంత్రాలు నేర్చుకోవడానికి అనువైన సమయం గా చెప్ప బడింది. ఈ మాసం లో రైతులకి పంట చేతికి వచ్చే కాలం కావున ధాన్య లక్ష్మి , ధన లక్ష్మి రూపం లో లక్ష్మీ దేవి ని విష్ణు మూర్తి సమేతం గా పూజిస్తారు. ఈ మాసం లో గృహ ప్రవేశాలు , పెళ్ళిళ్ళు , శంఖు స్థాపనలు వంటి శుభకార్యాలు చేయడానికి వీలులేనప్పటికీ సాధారణ పూజలు , పెద్దలని స్మరించుకొని చేసే అన్ని పుణ్య కార్యాలకి విశేష మాసం గా చెప్పవచ్చు. పుష్య మాసానికి అధిపతి అయిన శని మరియు నక్షత్రాదిపతి అయిన గురువు ని పూజించడం వలన విశేష ఫలితం లభిస్తుంది.. పుష్యమాసం లో శని గ్రహానికి అమావాస్య రోజున తైలాభిషేకం నిర్వహించడం ద్వారా శని బాధ నివృత్తి జరుగుతుంది....

ANNA ABHISHEKHAM on 28-11-2016 Monday at our Neighbour temple The rice is cooked in the temple premises and then it is carried around the temple. Priests chant mantras and musical instruments like naadaswaram, drum and cymbal are sounded. The cooked rice is then used to cover the Shivling and it is referred as Anna Linga. Various different types of rice preparations like pongal, curd rice, Shakara pongal, tamarind rice, sesame rice, payasam and other sweets from freshly harvested rice are prepared and offered to Lord Shiva on the day.
